Hi I'm Heather
Hi I'm Heather

Come stroll the trails with me on our 44 acre Midwest horse farm where I seek God in the ordinary and always find Him--the Extraordinary--wooing, teaching, wowing me with Himself. Thanks for visiting. I hope you will be blessed!

Rest for Our Souls

Another rainy day here on the farm.  Ah, Wisconsin!  How variable is your weather!

Yet, I will give thanks because this is God’s day.

I will consider the good, the lovely, no matter the condition of the weather or the condition of a soul.  I will give thanks and do what I can to make less-than-pleasing situations a bit more bearable, more beautiful.

So here today, for those who find life raining on the outside or raining on their inside, shall we take a moment and give thanks to God who gives us Himself in all situations, in all conditions?

Today, will we let ourselves breathe in God and wonder in the beauty to be found all around, if we’ll but take a moment, open our eyes, seek and find?

One thing I ask of the LORD,

This is what I seek:

That I may dwell in the house of the LORD

All the days of my life,

To gaze upon the beauty of the LORD

And to seek him in his temple.

For in the day of trouble

He will keep me safe in his dwelling.

Psalm 27:4-5 (emphasis, mine)

Our Lord loves us wildly.

The LORD is with us in all conditions.  He is mighty to save us.  He takes great delight in us.  He will quiet us with his love.  He will rejoice over us with singing.  (Zephaniah 3:17)

Let’s focus on the glimpses of His beauty in his creation today, just a taste of His total beauty.  Let’s give God thanks and rest in his perfect love.

Take a few moments.

Open your eyes.

See.

Breathe.

Sense God’s love in the smallest of flowers created for your pleasure and for his glory.

Give God thanks.

Let your soul find rest in God alone, for our salvation—this day—comes from him.

All CAN be well with our souls, despite our circumstances, right now, right where we are.

He has made everything beautiful in its time.  Ecclesiastes 3:11

I pray you will be blessed with some captured creation here on the farm, rain and shine . . .
