Hi I'm Heather

Come stroll the trails with me on our 44 acre Midwest horse farm where I seek God in the ordinary and always find Him--the Extraordinary--wooing, teaching, wowing me with Himself. Thanks for visiting. I hope you will be blessed!

Finding Our Treasure

A.W. Tozer’s books in my library have more lines highlighted than not, so beautiful and true are his writings.  Here is a choice morsel for your weekend meditation from The Pursuit of God . . .

The man who has God for his treasure has all things in One.  Many ordinary treasures may be denied him, or if he is allowed to have them, the enjoyment of them will be so tempered that they will never be necessary to his happiness.  Or if he must see them go, one after one, he will scarcely feel a sense of loss, for having the Source of all things he has in One all satisfaction, all pleasure, all delight.  Whatever he may lose he has actually lost nothing, for he now has it all in One, and he has it purely, legitimately and forever.

As a soul who has not grown enough yet to “scarcely feel a sense of loss” when having the hand of God peel her tight and frightened heart-fingers away from certain loves, Tozer’s words are my goal, which I am sure to reach according to the promise and grace of God, our Savior and Sanctifier.  Thank you, Jesus!

Be blessed, this weekend.
