Hi I'm Heather
Hi I'm Heather

Come stroll the trails with me on our 44 acre Midwest horse farm where I seek God in the ordinary and always find Him--the Extraordinary--wooing, teaching, wowing me with Himself. Thanks for visiting. I hope you will be blessed!

Cornered

He drove out our tractor to set corner posts on what will be new horse pasture come spring.  Drilling down into clay ground, we dropped poles deep.  Tension on wire will pull and stress. Without strong corners—without posts sunk deep, fence will collapse.  So we dug deep and we set.

And as we set each poll . . .

I thought about Jesus in flesh going deep, standing firm, holding tight.

I thought about being buried deep with Jesus in solid ground—grounded solid in Him who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

I thought about how when we’re hot-wired with Jesus we sustain the tensions and pulls and stresses of life that threaten to collapse us.  Instead, we’re electrified with Him who holds in what’s good and keeps out what’s not.  And we’re free to run and feed and commune within the safe boundaries He has set for us.

Horse fences are held together by corner posts.

We are held together by the Cornerstone.

And His name is Jesus, the One and Only.

Jesus.

I’m so glad I’m held together by something greater and stronger than I.

How about you?

So this is what the Sovereign LORD says:

See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who trusts will never be dismayed.

Isaiah 28:16
